Patients enjoy and appreciate the attention to detail Provision has dedicated to impacting the patient experience from beginning to end of their cancer treatment journey. Patients receiving care at the Provision CARES Proton Therapy Center can last anywhere from four to eight weeks, and their experience is comfortable and nurturing. The lobby feels like a living room with comfortable seating, a fireplace, and café with refreshments. The changing room continues with this comfortable and respectful environment, with spacious rooms and a private restroom for every patient. Information Sessions are scheduled to keep patients informed and educated on their treatment and “what to expect” during treatment and after. Activities are scheduled for patients on-site and off-site, to nurture a balance of clinical and non-clinical time. Many friendships and bonds are formed during this time, as patients and care givers share commonalities, offering each other support, encouragement and inspiration, impacting an overall positive experience for patients and their family.
Provision CARES Proton Therapy is unique in serving care to patients. Physician referred patients are welcome, however, as an “open” system, patients can self-refer without a physician referral. A self-referred patient can contact Provision CARES Proton Therapy directly to speak to a Care Coordinator and share medical documents. The Care Coordinator can schedule a consultation with the physician, to review the patient’s diagnosis, test results and medical history.
Provision Ambassadors are available to speak to a patient at any point of their cancer journey. This growing group of Provision’s “proton therapy” Ambassadors, includes former patients representing different disease sites, ages, gender, and geographic origin. Former Provision proton therapy patients are available to speak to anyone about their personal experience.
