Brion Shin, MD
Dr. Brion Shin is a board-certified Radiation Oncologist and serves as the Medical Director at Provision CARES Proton Therapy Knoxville. He comes to East Tennessee from Indiana, where he served as Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at Elkhart General Hospital for more than six years. He has extensive experience in managing a variety of cancers with various radiation modalities, including proton therapy, IMRT, brachytherapy, pediatric protocols, partial breast irradiation, liver and lung SBRT, concomitant boost head and neck irradiation, and reirradiation. Dr. Shin is part of the Excelsior Physicians group, which provides radiation oncology services to multiple proton and photon centers.
Dr. Shin received his undergraduate degree from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. He earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University in California. During his time at Loma Linda, he also gained experience in proton therapy. He completed an internship at the University of Arizona in Tucson, and at Loma Linda University, where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Shin professes an aptitude for relating to patients with compassion, and he is excited to offer patients proton therapy, the most advanced radiation treatment in his specialty. In recognition of his phenomenal performance as a Radiation Oncologist, Dr. Shin has been honored with publication into The Leading Physicians of the World by the International Association of Healthcare Professionals (IAHCP).
In his personal time, Dr. Brion Shin enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf.
