Telemedicine Options Available
Provision offers Telehealth Visits and Virtual Walk-Ins for cancer care during the coronavirus pandemic
Telemedicine is now offered by Provision CARES Proton Therapy through a Medicare and HIPAA compliant telemedicine program* that allows electronic or virtual visits for services that previously were only permitted face-to-face. Patients can have detailed interactions with their clinician over the phone or via an electronic platform, eliminating the need for patients to leave their home. The program includes both “Telehealth Visits” and “Virtual Walk-Ins,” depending on the needs and desires of the patient.
Provision has complied with CDC and state guidance by implementing a series of precautions to protect the health and well-being of all of our patients and visitors during the coronavirus pandemic. Since the center is a free-standing facility with only one patient entrance that is not shared with any other departments or entities, the team has been able to implement a controlled entry and outside screening program to better assure that patients and visitors with health issues can be adequately screened and assessed even before entering the facility. Further, the team has adopted an electronic notification process to expedite treatment process times. At the time of their appointment, the patient is notified electronically to enter the facility. A Provision team member then meets the patient in the entry area and escorts them directly to either an exam room, treatment room or other designated service location, eliminating unnecessary interactions and idle time in the waiting area.
